Image generation & editing · Vendor site 2026-10-04
Google Flow is Google's AI studio for images and video. It now includes the features of Whisk and ImageFX: combine reference images as ingredients, generate and edit images, and turn them into Veo or Gemini Omni videos. Whisk links redirect to Flow.
People who want Google's image and video generation in one workspace, including former Whisk users, who are 18 or older in a Flow-supported country.
Flow requires a verified age of 18+ and a supported country; editing uploaded videos and Avatars are unavailable in the EEA, Switzerland and the UK; AI credits cannot be bought in Japan; video generation without a subscription may be unavailable during peak hours (about 2 PM to 5 PM UTC).
Sign in to flow.google.com with a Google account in a Chromium-based browser (a Flow mobile app is also available), open a project and choose Image or Video in the prompt box. Add reference images as ingredients by dragging them in or typing @ to reference saved assets and characters, then describe the result. Flow can edit an image with text or a lasso selection and turn it into a Veo or Gemini Omni video. Flow absorbed Google's earlier Labs image tools: Whisk launched in the US in December 2024 as an experiment for prompting with a subject, a scene and a style image, and on 25 February 2026 Google announced that the best capabilities of Whisk and ImageFX were moving into Flow, with an opt-in transfer of Whisk and ImageFX projects and assets to your Flow library from March. labs.google/whisk and labs.google/fx/tools/whisk now redirect to flow.google.com.
Flow does not have a separate subscription, and Whisk never had its own price list. Google's Flow help page on credits says every user, with or without a subscription, receives 50 Google Flow credits per day; unused daily credits do not roll over, and the daily refresh starts from your first generation. Google AI Plus subscribers get an extra 200 Flow credits a month, Google AI Pro an extra 1,000, Google AI Ultra $100 an extra 10,000 and Google AI Ultra $200 an extra 25,000; monthly credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over. Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers can buy additional AI credits except in Japan. Nano Banana 2 Lite is described as the default image model available at no charge, and Google's February 2026 post says you can generate images for free in Flow. Credit costs listed per generation cover video models only (for example Veo 3.1 Fast costs 20 credits for non-Ultra subscribers and Veo 3.1 Quality costs 100). Workspace users on qualifying Business, Enterprise and Education plans get Flow with 50 daily credits at no extra charge. We did not record Google AI plan prices because they vary by country; check the Google One plans page for your region.
Official Google pages reviewed on 12 October 2026: the Google Labs Whisk launch post (16 December 2024), the Google blog post 'New ways to create and refine content in Flow' (25 February 2026), and the Google Flow Help pages 'Get started with Google Flow', 'Manage your Google Flow credits', 'Where you can use Google Flow', 'Create & edit images in Google Flow' and 'Learn about Google Flow models & supported features'. We also confirmed that labs.google/whisk redirects to flow.google.com. No hands-on test was run. The official pages conflict on free access: 'Get started with Google Flow' says you must subscribe to Google AI Plus, Pro or Ultra, while the credits page says non-subscribers receive 50 Flow credits per day and the February 2026 blog says images can be generated for free. Google's original Whisk FAQ is no longer reachable because it redirects to Flow, so we could not confirm Whisk-only country or age rules; the availability stated here is Flow's.
