Blipbar is a macOS status bar for AI usage, coding-agent activity and connected operational signals. It can display plan limits and show Approve or Deny when Claude Code or Codex requests a command. Small TypeScript extensions add supported services, while a command-line wrapper reports long-running task status.
Choose it for Mac developers who want visible agent approvals and usage signals without repeatedly opening dashboards.
Requires macOS 15 or later. Usage displays depend on the provider connection, and extensions require appropriate service credentials. A desktop approval prompt is not a substitute for reviewing the actual command or the agent’s configured permissions.
Install the Mac app and add only the provider or service integrations needed. Inspect a requested agent command before approving it from the notch. Keep tokens scoped, review imported extensions and use the command wrapper for visibility into a task you already intend to run.
The vendor says everything currently running on the Mac is free and will stay free. API keys are stored in the Mac Keychain and service calls run from the Mac without a Blipbar account. Future server functions such as two-Mac synchronization may have a paid plan, whose price is not published.
Official vendor material reviewed on 7 October 2026. This listing describes documented workflow and restrictions. No application installation, paid generation, customer-data session or performance benchmark was conducted. Confirm live terms and inspect output for the intended use.
