Choose a Hindi AI voice generator: script, sound and cost

Compare Hindi voice workflows with a pronunciation-ready script, a repeatable listening checklist and a character-based cost example.

Choose the narration job first

A Hindi voice generator may be used for a product explanation, an educational clip or a longer narration. These jobs differ in pacing, pronunciation and the importance of editing individual lines. Decide the audience, script length and final audio destination before choosing a voice.

This is a supporting selection guide, not an audio-generation service. The researched head query favors vendor product pages. We have not listened to comparative outputs, so the article does not rank services by naturalness. Its contribution is a prepared script and a reproducible evaluation record.

Two documented Hindi voice options

Sarvam documents Hindi support in its Bulbul model documentation. Its API pricing page lists text to speech at ₹3 per 1,000 characters and a credit-based payment model. Shortlist it when an Indian-language API workflow and character-based accounting fit the project. Skip an API-first workflow if your team needs a simple editor and has no way to integrate or manage requests.

ElevenLabs offers a Hindi text-to-speech page. Its pricing FAQ lists Starter at $6 monthly with 30,000 shared credits; the pricing page also shows temporary promotions. Compare recurring cost rather than assuming an introductory offer continues. Shortlist it for a broader voice-production workflow, but confirm the model, export quality and use rights on the selected plan. We did not establish which sounds better on this script.

Worked example: prepare a script for listening

Completed editorial script exercise. Initial text: “आज 3:30 PM पर demo है। Fee ₹1,299 है और link WhatsApp पर भेज देंगे।” The numbers, abbreviation and mixed-language terms leave several pronunciation choices implicit. That may be acceptable in casual speech but makes comparison harder.

Prepared version: “आज दोपहर साढ़े तीन बजे डेमो है। शुल्क एक हज़ार दो सौ निन्यानवे रुपये है। लिंक व्हाट्सऐप पर भेज देंगे।” This fixes the intended time and currency reading before synthesis. It is our edited script, not a generated audio result. Keep another version with the original mixed-language text if that is how your audience expects the announcement to sound.

Use a listening record, not a beauty score

Generate the same prepared script in candidate services only when you have access. Record model, voice, settings, date and plan. Listen for the intended time and price, pronunciation of names, pacing at sentence boundaries and whether Hindi-English transitions sound appropriate for your audience.

Ask a fluent reviewer to note the exact phrase requiring correction. Save the script revision alongside the audio version. If a different spelling fixes a name, retain that change in the production script. Do not infer pronunciation quality from the number of listed languages.

Calculate characters and reruns separately

At the documented Sarvam rate, 5,000 billed characters would cost ₹15 for one synthesis: five units of 1,000 at ₹3. Three full billed runs at that length would be ₹45. This illustrates the arithmetic using the listed rate; taxes, actual metering and other charges must be checked before purchase. Characters and words are different units.

Do not equate another vendor’s credits directly with characters. Check the selected model’s conversion and shared usage across products. Voice editing, storage and distribution are separate costs. Keep your final script and downloaded audio outside a temporary preview link.

Approve the audio for its destination

Before release, check that the final file plays correctly in the destination video or player and that the voice says the intended words. Confirm commercial-use permission, attribution requirements and any voice-specific restrictions with the selected service. We have not independently verified every format or use entitlement here.

Use the script, reviewer notes and final file as the handoff. This guide provides the evaluation method; a hands-on listening comparison remains an explicit research task before any claim about the best-sounding Hindi voice.

Hindi narration questions

Which Hindi voice sounds most natural?

We have not run a listening comparison. Use the same script with a fluent reviewer and record exact pronunciation problems before ranking services.

Are characters the same as words?

No. Check the vendor’s billed unit and model rules. Our example uses 5,000 billed characters, not 5,000 words.

Can I use the free output commercially?

Do not assume so. Confirm the selected plan’s commercial rights and any voice-specific restrictions before release.

Put this guide to work

Your decision criteria: Hindi pronunciation, commercial rights and character billing.

Estimate your subscription budget

174.00 per month; 2088.00 per year in your entered currency.

Illustrative planning math using your inputs. Assumes identical recurring seat prices across tools. Excludes tax, overages, discounts and one-time charges; annual billing may have a different rate.

Before you choose

  • Try a small, realistic task: a permitted 100-word script containing Hindi names, numbers and English terms.
  • Check the result against what matters here: hindi pronunciation, commercial rights and character billing.
  • Make sure you can edit and export the finished work in the format you need.
  • Count the retries and corrections, then check the full cost of the plan you would use.
