A room render is a concept. Keep fixed features visible, then validate furniture dimensions and circulation before buying.
Decide what you are actually changing
A furnished-room restyle, an empty-room concept and a renovation plan have different requirements. Identify fixed doors, windows, radiators and circulation paths before asking for a new style. An image can suggest an attractive sofa position without proving the sofa fits or that a door can still open.
Our shortlist is for exploring visual concepts from room images. It is not a construction drawing service. If your decision requires accurate dimensions, structural changes or a procurement specification, use measured plans and appropriate professional review alongside the concept tool.

Two documented workflows worth evaluating
REimagineHome’s pricing page lists five free designs for new users. It distinguishes Essential’s basic staging from Pro’s conversational editing and reference guidance. Essential lists 30 monthly credits; Pro lists 200. The exact checkout price was not consistently visible in the retrieved page, so we do not quote it as confirmed. Choose the lighter workflow when a basic furnishing concept is enough; investigate Pro when incremental instructions matter.
Decor8 lists room-photo transformations and separate API access. It is a candidate when you want to compare another room-design workflow or investigate developer integration. Its consumer plan price, design allowance and selected export resolution were not reliably captured here. API availability does not establish that your home-design account includes API credits.

Worked example: keep the door clear in a small living room
Completed editorial exercise with fictional room facts: a 3.2 × 4-metre living room, a door on the short wall, a window opposite and a radiator below the window. The first brief asked for “a cozy room with a big sofa and reading corner.” It ignored the radiator and the route through the room.
Revised brief: “Retain the door, window, radiator and room proportions. Suggest a compact sofa on the long wall and a reading chair away from the radiator. Keep the door swing and the central walking route clear. Show furnishings as concepts; do not alter wall openings.” The finished result is a constraint-aware brief, not a generated room or a verified furniture layout. The next step is a measured placement sketch using actual furniture dimensions.
Small room; fixed door, window and radiator.
Big sofa and reading corner, with no constraints.
Compact furniture; preserve openings; keep circulation clear; measure before buying.
Take the concept to a measurement sheet
For each candidate furnishing, record width, depth, delivery access and the space required to use it. Mark furniture footprints on a scaled sketch or with temporary floor tape. Check the door swing and reach to windows. A photorealistic chair can be a fictional object; its appearance is not a supplier specification.
When comparing outputs, keep the same photo and fixed-feature list. Reject concepts that move a window, hide an obstruction or silently enlarge the room. Save a labelled concept beside the original so household members can distinguish the proposal from the existing space.
Buy fewer renders before buying furniture
Explore one decision at a time: layout first, then color or furnishings. Re-rendering every choice together makes it harder to know why a concept improved. Record whether an attempt was a new design or an incremental edit, and check the resulting credit charge.
In a fictional evaluation, six concepts yield two feasible directions after measurement. That is two usable directions, not six purchase-ready rooms. Confirm product availability, price and returns with the retailer separately. Choose a design app for useful exploration; avoid using its attractive render as the only justification for a costly purchase.
Home design questions
Can I buy everything shown in a render?
Not necessarily. Identify actual products and their dimensions separately; generated furnishings may not exist.
Can an app prove a sofa will fit?
A picture alone cannot. Use room measurements and the supplier’s dimensions.
How is this different from the real-estate guide?
This guide supports a homeowner’s design decision and purchase handoff; the real-estate guide covers truthful listing assets.
THE RESEARCH DESK
Sources & methodology
Official documentation was consulted on 7 October 2026. The worked example uses fictional inputs and was edited for this guide. No vendor application benchmark or outcome test was performed. Prices and allowances should be confirmed before purchase.

Your decision criteria: Room constraints, realistic layouts and export access.
Plan your output dimensions
2400 × 1600 pixels; 3.84 megapixels. At 300 pixels per inch: 8.0 × 5.3 inches.
Illustrative planning math using your inputs. More pixels do not prove better detail. Print quality also depends on the source and printer.
Before you choose
- Try a small, realistic task: one measured room; preserve doors, windows and circulation paths.
- Check the result against what matters here: room constraints, realistic layouts and export access.
- Make sure you can edit and export the finished work in the format you need.
- Count the retries and corrections, then check the full cost of the plan you would use.
